Imagine a shepherd who genuinely cares for every single sheep in his flock. When God says He will be the shepherd, it’s like a warm embrace — a promise that you’re not alone. This isn't just about guiding; it’s about comforting you and providing a safe space where you can truly relax and feel secure. It’s a vivid image of love, care, and protection that you can really feel in your heart.
Ezekiel, the prophet, wrote this book during a really tough time for the Israelites, who were facing exile and hardship. He included this detail to remind the people that despite their struggles, God has not forgotten them. Ezekiel’s perspective is shaped by the deep pain of his people, and he wants them to know that God is ready to step in and be their guide and protector. He’s speaking from experience, wanting them to trust in God’s promise of care.
