Maybe it’s reaching out to someone in need on a day you usually reserve for yourself, or simply being more flexible in your interactions with others. Let your actions reflect love over tradition.
Leading up to this verse, Jesus is in a lively debate with religious leaders. They’re questioning his authority and trying to trap him in his words. He's been teaching that the spirit of the law is more important than the letter of the law, and here he’s driving that point home. By bringing up circumcision, he’s amplifying the tension—they pride themselves on following the law, yet he’s showing how their practices can be inconsistent.
