The book of Judges is traditionally attributed to Samuel, a significant figure in Israel’s history. He wanted to capture the chaotic times when Israel was trying to find its identity without a king. By including this moment, he highlights the importance of relationships and the need for compassion in the midst of turmoil. It shows that even in difficult times, people need to support one another and take care of their hearts.
