They’ve taken that big step of faith by getting baptized in Jesus' name, but they’re still missing out on this next amazing experience. It's like starting a fantastic adventure and realizing there's even more to discover just around the corner! This verse highlights this exciting stage of their journey – they’re on the brink of something incredible.
This book, Acts, was written by Luke, a doctor and a close companion of Paul. Luke wanted to document the incredible story of the early church and how it expanded. Including this detail about the Holy Spirit not yet being given shows his emphasis on the transformative power of God in believers' lives.
