To really grasp this moment, let’s step back a bit. The Israelites were escaping slavery in Egypt, and they found themselves trapped at the Red Sea with the Egyptian army closing in fast. Just before this verse, God instructed Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea, leading to a miraculous parting that allowed the Israelites to cross safely. This verse is the dramatic climax where God intervenes, creating a clear divide that keeps the Israelites safe while the Egyptians are left in confusion and darkness. It’s a pivotal moment that showcases God's power and protection right when it’s needed most.
