Imagine the moment when Aaron hears the call from God! He’s been living his life, possibly feeling a bit lost in the wilderness, and then boom! God tells him to go meet his brother Moses. There’s excitement, urgency, and a bit of nervousness as he sets off. When they finally reunite at the mountain, it’s a genuine moment of affection – a kiss! This isn’t just a greeting; it’s a powerful reunion filled with love and purpose. You can almost feel the energy in the air as they come together, ready to embark on a monumental journey together!
The book of Exodus was written by Moses himself, reflecting on his own experiences and the pivotal moments in the life of the Israelites. He's sharing this detail about Aaron because it highlights the importance of family and teamwork in fulfilling God’s plan. Moses knew how vital it was to have someone by his side, and by including this moment, he emphasizes the support and love that often fuels great missions.
This was written during a time when the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, around 1400 BC. The world was filled with empires and harsh rulers, and the Israelites were struggling to find hope and freedom.
