It's not just a star; it's a divine sign, a beacon of hope that you’re on the right path. This verse captures that exhilarating moment when the journey culminates in discovery—where everything you’ve been searching for is finally within reach.
This book was written by Matthew, one of Jesus' disciples, who wanted to share the story of Jesus with a focus on how he fulfilled ancient prophecies. Matthew's perspective is unique because he was an eyewitness to many events in Jesus’ life. He includes this detail about the star because it highlights how even the cosmos aligned to reveal who Jesus is. Before this verse, we see a group of wise travelers, often called the Magi, who have traveled from a far-off land. They’ve heard whispers of a king being born and have come to find him. After meeting with King Herod, who’s more interested in preserving his own power than in this new king, the Magi set out again.
